Epupa Falls, a breathtaking national landmark, is a natural formation along the Kunene River. At the Angola-Namibia border, Namibia’s northern river cascades into a dramatic gorge of overlapping waterfalls extending well over a mile long. In Namibia, Africa discarded PVC pipe destined for the landfill is collected by local artisans, then hand-cut, carved and re-formed into bracelets. The practice of turning something with no perceived value into something with value is called UPCYCLING, and these artisans do it beautifully! Inspiration for the patterns and designs come from the animals, landscape, rich history of Namibia; and reflect the traditional art of the region alongside the artists’ own unique vision.

The Base Project is a socially-motivated fashion brand building a bridge between artisans in the developing world and conscious consumers like you.
